For many years before I tried it, I was interested in the concept of yoga, but for a myriad of reasons, I was terrified to step foot into a regular class at a studio. I didn't have a mat, I didn't want to 'OM' for an hour, I didn't like the sound of sitting in a room full of people farting, I couldn't kiss my but or stand on my head... But eventually I got brave and thankfully none of my fears were realised. I battled my way through regular classes feeling awkward and uncomfortable for a great number of weeks. I feel that this experience is common and is the reason why so many people go to a yoga class once, and never go back. I hope to change that experience into something positive, so that you can leave loving yoga as much as I do, and feel empowered to step on your mat.
Hannah has designed this short and sweet 'crash course' on yoga to avoid, well, a 'car crash' at your first yoga class :)
In a relaxed, fun atmosphere, we will spend three hours covering the basics of yogic breath, demystify some of the 'crazy' names we yogis give things, look at safe alignment and how to use all those funny looking props in a handful of essential poses. We will weave all that we learn in a simple vinyasa yoga sequence and will then close with our favourite thing about yoga - guided sleep time or 'savasana'! There will also be opportunity to ask questions as they arise or at the end of the session.
You will leave this workshop feeling pumped to don your lycra and get down-ward dog.

As a full service studio, we supply yoga mats, and all necessary props. We just recommend that you arrive wearing comfortable clothing and an inquisitive mind.
