MONDAY 5 JUNE 4-6PM
Join Hannah and her musical friends for this very special Yin Yoga class with Live music from Aarti Jadu and Matt Hatch.
Many of us know that the stillness of our bodies as we practice yin yoga is not easily met with stillness in the mind. The addition of live music can add another dimension to practice, something for the mind to chew on. Something to carry that mind on a journey to stillness. With a curated soundscape to assist your body, you will be transported with the vibrations of sound and energy.
Aarti is a self-taught jazz and world musician, singer/songwriter and yogi. Starting off in early childhood with roots in Indian devotional music, such as kirtan and bhajan, she has weaved together elements of each of her interests into a rich tapestry informed by many disciplines. She displays a keenness to explore sound through yoga - which represents a sense of unity and connection to self- in improvisation and the catering of the unknown through voice, and in doing so, embodies a complete trust in intuition.
Together with Matthew Hatch, from Sounds of Samadhi and Bonney Upwelling, they will be taking the practice through a series of soundscapes embellished with improvisation and Sanskrit hindi chantings.
Here's the album by Aarti Jadu and producer Matt Coldrick available for puchase at Tonic Yoga
